The stigma behind Mental Health. What is the social media community saying?

Part 1.

Firstly, mental illness or mental disorder is such a broad topic. Why? Because there are so many forms of mental health diagnosis. For resources to research on mental health diagnosis:

•https://www.nimh.nih.gov/     •https://www.mentalhealth.gov/  •http://teenmentalhealth.org/

Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. … Mental illnesses are health conditions that involves changes in thinking, emotion or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities.

I didn’t start this blog to talk about the text book shenanigans or to talk about what several trips to the therapist and psychologist office for therapeutic sessions. They are  wonderful and magnificent help to us.

However, I blog because I’m a realist, I live in the reality world of life. The world that so many are suffering inside because; of these reasons. Religious purposes, cultural purposes, ignorance, embarrassment, pride, their values and so much more.

So let’s talk about religion for a minute. I’m going to share the things I witnessed and heard personally.

Let’s have it:

•you don’t pray enough, step out of it’ think about people that have reall illness,’people that doesn’t have lambs.

• culturally, you must a bad spirit on you, what kind of nonsense you talking about. You need to just get up and do what you need to do. My favorite, there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re just need to stop thinking about winning about your problems.

• These doctors just want to write prescriptions to get money and want to make you think you’re crazy.

• I have a company to run, in the capacity I’m working I can’t let people know anything is wrong with me I have a reputation to uphold.

Now let’s see what others have heard. These comments are from follower from Facebook and Intagram followers. I didn’t expect it, but the response from those two communities were overwhelming. This is between a 2 day span.

This is what I posted to those communities. The (post) Follows.
